ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The Packaging Team Leader is responsible for managing a crew that packages our finished food products. This position helps to oversee personnel and machine operations. This position trains, coaches, and problem solves with team members and ensures that all production activities meet our rigorous standards for plant and food safety.

This shift consists of three 12-hour shifts, running from 6:30pm to 7:00am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for the operations of assigned shift including coordinating work activities for hourly and temporary employees, supporting efficient equipment operation, providing adequate personnel training, handling personnel issues and communicating relevant information to Line Coordinators.
• Responsible for the organization of the day-to-day operations of a shift including assignment of sanitation duties, machine troubleshooting and reassignment of team members as needed.
• Coach and support each team member and facilitate brief team meetings as needed, including employee and temporary employee work assessments.
• Confer with other Team Leaders to coordinate operations and activities within or between work areas.
• Ensure that all shift paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
• Enforce company policies, safety standards, GMP standards and HACCP.
• Oversee maintenance of clean and sanitary conditions according to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect and document defects, malfunctions and questions.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Appropriate English language ability in order to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, MOs, and other related documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Has the ability to recognize issue and escalate to appropriate person.
• Must be able to work around and with various food machinery equipment
• Must be able to measure ingredients and follow written instructions
• Must have the ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift (up to 12 hours)
• Must be 18 years or older
