Software Engineer

Northern Gold is looking for a Software Engineer for immediate hire at our Junction City facility. (North of Eugene off Hwy 99) You'll be working on a team supporting our cereal bar manufacturing facility at that location and two others. We know our public-facing website needs updating, we've been more focused on the internal needs of our facilities.

Our team builds and supports systems that track production, quality assurance, maintenance, inventory, and other operational needs. Our facilities manufacture a variety of healthy breakfast and snack products such as granola bars, cookies, and boxed breakfast cereal.

Our development approach is very hands-on, our developers regularly work with our manufacturing operations staff to develop requirements, implement features, and provide on-the-job training. We believe in short sprints and delivering features multiple times per week.

We're looking to hire a seasoned full-stack developer who enjoys seeing their code in action. This is truly a major selling-point of this position - your code will be in-use within days of writing it, you'll get immediate feedback on the code, and you'll be solving real problems. If you're sick of producing vapor-ware, or waiting months before a release, join us and start pushing to product.

You'll need to be proficient, have experience, and enjoy working with these technologies:

• PHP - We use version 7
• SQL - We use Microsoft SQL Server extensively
• JavaScript
• HTML / CSS
• Windows - All dev boxes, prod servers, and end-user terminals run on Windows.

Experience with the following is a plus:

• Cordova / PhoneGap for android mobile
• Angular / Typescript for some of our fancy UIs
• C# for when we need to talk to hardware printers/scanners/scales
• Big Data processing tools/techniques (Our facilities generate lots of data!)
• Ethernet/IP / Modbus TCP / other PLC communication technologies

Our ideal developer would also:

• Have experience with manufacturing or the food industry
• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Have experience working with end users for requirements gathering and/or training
